The virus took us by surprise and the lockdown was a real shock… my reaction was immediate : I would take advantage of long lost days to be as active as possible ; I remembered the collaboration between BeNe GeSSeRiT and USWARD in the 80’s which led to a cassette release… We were separated by long distance and we worked together without playing physically together, using cassettes and postal services… So I asked to my friend Daniel Malempré if he agreed to collaborate the same way, this time using the internet to share files and discuss the process.
So, in March 16 each of us sent unfinished tracks to the other, the goal being to finish them and make some nice tracks out of it… It worked remarkably well, a sort of chemistry happened, mixing MAL’s melodic world to BeNe GeSSeRiT’s extravagant universe … We expected to release one C40 cassette out of it, but finally, we had enough material to release three cassettes of 40 minutes each … A pity that we don’t have the money to release 3 LPs, this music really deserves it.
I did handmade the cover sleeves and Nadine painted an original artwork for each cassette … only 120 copies were made, each one being hand numbered.
